Correctional Facility (CF) Series Slide Gate Operator

The B&B ARMR CF Series hydraulic sliding gate operator actuates overhead, track-mounted gate panels. The unit is unobtrusive yet durable under heavy use.

It is well suited for sallyport systems at prisons or other maximum security installations. A standard 3-point locking column makes forced entry/exit virtually impossible. The design improves safety and security, increases reliability, and reduces maintenance.

Controls operate on safe and reliable 24VAC voltage. A built-in transformer, completely pre-wired, steps down the input voltage. Actual gate panel position is sensed by limit switches actuated by stop plates. Operation and maintenance reliability are thus greatly improved over other methods of position feedback.

The operator slides the gate panel by rotating two wheels which are spring loaded against a drive rail attached to the panel. Spring loading produces a positive friction feed in both directions and corrects for wheel wear. The wheels are rotated by series connected hydraulic motors to minimize uneven rotation. Rotation direction (and gate panel movement) is determined by the hydraulic valve system, not by the direction of electric motor rotation. As a result, gate travel can be instantly reversed without the use of brakes.
