November 27, 2001 13:19:00 (ET)
IRVING, Texas, Nov 27, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Integrated Security
Systems, Inc. (IZZI, Trade) announced today the receipt of an additional
order for its CR 25 crash barrier from one of the nation's major oil
companies by its wholly owned subsidiary, B&B Electromatic, Inc.
This is the second of the oil company's nine facilities to order such
barriers. The initial order was received on October 9, 2001 and
installation was completed on October 26, 2001. The current order will
be shipped on November 30, 2001.
"The initial installation served as a test site," said Jack Caldwell,
President and CEO of B&B. He continued, "We expect that the remaining
seven refining facilities will follow the lead of these first two sites
and B&B is fully prepared to respond quickly to further crash barrier
orders from this source. Additionally, refining facilities of several
oil companies in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Alabama have
investigated the use of our crash barrier and have asked for both
technical assistance and firm quotations. We are confident that this
activity will results in orders in the very near future."
B&B's CR 25 crash barrier comes in both a manual and electrical system.
Each version has a vertical to horizontal arm, is equipped with an
energy absorption cable assembly and weatherproof housing. The manual
version has been successfully crash tested to U.S. Navy specifications
OR-98-09-88 and M-56-86-05 with a level 1/L2 rating and Department of
the Army rating level of KN1-LN2. It is listed by the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers in their document Protection Against Malevolent Use of
Vehicles at Nuclear Power Plants (NUREG/CR-6190 Vol. 2, Rev. 1). The
electrical version has the same physical characteristics as the manual
version.
The CR 25 is currently in use at use at oil refineries, nuclear power
plants, various GSA buildings and at U.S. Embassies.
